9 Tips for Effective Time Management

Have you ever thought to yourself that there aren’t enough hours in the day, or felt overwhelmed at the tasks facing you? If you have, this article can help you!

  • Clarify your goals and strategy

Be very clear about your aims and ambitions, both short and long-term. Write them down. Once you know what you really want to achieve (and why) it’s easier to make decisions about what needs doing and to plan accordingly.

  • Focus on your top priorities

You’ll be more productive and profitable if you identify and focus on the areas most important to your business. Work on the fundamentals first. The Latin word ‘fundamentum’ means foundation – so take action, build strong foundations and the rest should follow.

  • Schedule time

Literally write an appointment in your work planner (you do have one of those, don’t you?) to set aside a realistic block of time for your priority actions. This reduces anxiety over not having enough time and...

7 Steps To Achievable Goals

How many times have you heard that being successful is all down to setting goals? It may come as no surprise to you to learn there is a lot more to success than just setting your goals. In this article, I show you why many people fail to achieve their goals and how to be successful with whatever it is that you want to achieve in your life.

1. What is a goal?

A goal is a target which is achievable in measurable attainable steps. It is more than just a desire or a need and has an existence of its own. A desire or a wish is less tangible and often just fleeting. Who doesn't desire or wish to win the lottery? A goal is a desire, wish or need achievable by actions you can take. It is more than a mere wish or desire.

2.  How to set a goal?

Setting a goal is a process which starts with an achievable need or desire. First you must decide on the following:

What do you want? Where do you want to be? Your status, career or qualifications?

A goal can relate to any desire,...

7 Reasons Why Goal Setting Is Important

  1. To give direction to life
  2. To make sure we are the ones choosing the direction of our life -- not others, not fate, not the media, etc.
  3. To motivate
  4. To make sure we get what we want from life
  5. To save time
  6. To reduce stress
  7. To give a sense of accomplishment

While it can be fun to live without direction in the short term, in the long-term human beings are wired to need a purpose and direction. Goals give a sense of direction and purpose to life.

It is often easy to let others set our direction for us. We take a job because family or friends point us in that direction and then we follow the dictates of our bosses. We move in other directions because popular culture or the media tells us to do so. The simple truth is that if we do not set our own goals then we will find it too easy to follow a path set by others. This can lead to stress and unhappiness. We have a greater chance of happiness and fulfillment by following our own path and pursuing our own goals.

While goals certainly...

3 Tips For Managing Your Life

Good news: from getting organized to maximizing your time, there are some easy ways to stay focused and achieve your goals.

  • What Areas Need the Most Work?

Watching a reality TV show may be more entertaining than cleaning the green film off the shower stall but it won't keep your home from becoming a biohazard. Establishing and sticking to priorities will help you spend less time worrying about what needs to be done and more time accomplishing your goals. Consider using Sunday evenings, when you normally mourn the end of the weekend, to go over weekly goals and priorities. This is a great way to stay focused on what you want to accomplish without getting ahead of yourself.

  • Cut Out the Junk

If you're like most people, you keep possessions well beyond their usefulness. When neighbors begin mistaking your garage for abstract art, you have a problem. Consider selling old appliances, clothing, and furniture that add clutter to your life; to avoid the hassle of a yard...

3 Quick Stress Busters | High Performance Coaching

How do you react when your plans fall through?  Do you roll with the punches?  Or does anxiety keep you from enjoying life? Here are 3 things to help keep your stress under control:

  • Sleep more.

It’s very common in our society to exist on less than 6 hours of sleep a night.  But experts recommend 6-8 hours of sleep per night. Not just to rest our bodies, but to rejuvenate our minds. Sleeping is the time for our bodies to not just rest, but heal.

  • Turn it off.

The convenience that cell phones have added to our lives can actually be a double-edged sword.  We depend on them so much it seems we can’t live without them.  Our minds are constantly filled with news, social media, emails, etc. and it is nearly impossible for us to settle. Put your phone down at least 30 minutes before bed.

  • Take a vacation.

It doesn’t have to be a fancy vacation resort.  A day at the beach or an afternoon at the park will do. ...

5 Ways To Focus on Goal Setting | High Performance Coaching

Life is nothing but an obstacle course, it's all about getting through that obstacle course to your desired goal that most people seem to have a problem with. It's only normal to encounter obstacles in the pursuit of your goal. It's kind of a test to see if you're worthy.

However, when these obstacles start to become a nuisance to the point of almost putting a stop to your goal(s); or worse, making one completely abandon his/her goal, one must take action and think things through.

So, with that said, here are some helpful, tested pointers that will keep your attention focused on achieving any goal that you put your mind to.

1.  Think Positive

This means: Do not quit. Especially when one is midway in working toward a goal, there should be no room for quitting.

To quit is tantamount to going back to the starting line of goal accomplishment. That is time, energy, money, and a whole lot of things wasted and lost. It is more costly to quit than to find a solution to the problem, not...

4 Ways to Postpone your Procrastination | High Performance Coaching

We’ve all done it at some time or other. We put off our exercise routine until tomorrow; we continually delay finishing that project or starting that business.

Procrastination is the mother of all demons and can stop you in your tracks from achieving all that you desire.

Here are 4 effective processes you can use to slay this giant:

  • Do it now

Hold your breath and jump right in! Putting things off until the last minute is a bad habit and like all habits is ingrained in our subconscious minds and hard to break. It feels like the normal thing to do and we simply continue along our path. To complete a task immediately may even feel strange or like a forced action.

  • Take baby steps

Sometimes we procrastinate because the task may be intimidating to us. Perhaps we have no possible inkling of where to start. In these cases, it is quite fine to take it one step at a time. Say you are preparing a business plan and for the 5th time this week, you’ve turned on the PC and looked...

3 Powerful Tips To Help Manage Everyday Stress | High Performance Coaching

Often stress will manifest when we carry over yesterday’s concerns into our present-day concerns. An accumulation will almost always end up in a high-stress level. Therefore, we must be able to “dump” all of our concerns from the previous day or days and concentrate wholly on today.

So here are 3 stress-busting tips:

- Stress-Busting Tip #1

Resolve right now to release every thought from yesterday and be only mindful of the now…. this thought only...this breath...this moment. Take in three very deep breaths and slowly release each one.

At the same time feel each and every concern, each and every problem, and each and every unresolved moment, begin to dissolve. You can deal with them at a later time. For now, you are only to be in this very moment.

Now go to your inner quiet place. Go deep inside to a place where you feel that you are at peace and then just relax and breathe in deeply and enjoy the feeling of being at one and at peace within...

2 Simple Ways to Enhance Your Growth | High Performance Coaching

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel less than great. Low, grouchy, fed-up, and bored are all words you could use to describe what I’m like on those days and I’m probably not the best company. The thing is, days like those are part of the deal with being human – it’s not an elective. There will always be off days, and that’s okay.

But what happens when you get a whole string of those off-days, maybe lasting weeks, months or even years? Too many of us say that we’re in a rut, feel stuck, fed-up, or bored and admit that we don’t want things to be that way, but we don’t know what to do to change. That’s the problem, when you’re in a rut, you don’t have the energy or motivation to change things for the better, and it’s tough to find the insight or resources you need to make that jump.

Here are some fun and easy ways you can use right now to climb, or better yet, leap, out of the rut and...

2 Simple Strategies For Never Losing Out Again | High Performance Coaching

Life is full of ups and downs and sometimes has a few sideways thrown in too. When things go wrong or don’t go as planned, or when something happens to throw us off balance and doubt ourselves it can be tough to deal with. After all, we all want things to go well and to end up as ‘winners’. But life will always throw challenges at us, and we can’t control everything. Nor should we try. It’s not what happens to you but what you do with what happens to you that makes the difference. Here are three easy ways that you can always come out on top.

  1. Focus on Your Strengths

We’re a bunch of contradictions – sorry to break it to you. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad; sometimes hopeful, sometimes pessimistic; sometimes childish and sometimes mature. We also have a whole load of strengths and weaknesses that affect what we do and how we do it, but we tend to put more focus on our weaknesses and not our strengths.

A strength is something that you do...
